This and That.

So Rita came and went, Wilma too and Alpha is done too and now Beta is in the making. Not expected to affect the USA. Of course the news keep reminding us that there are Americans stranded in Cancun. The real people we need to worry about is the Mexicans who lived there, who have no money to start over and who rely on tourism to eat, I would think. Sure, the Americans are stranded in less than perfect conditions, but, bah, they will soon be home to nothing but luxuries compared to the Mexicans they'll be leaving behind. And not to mention that they left here with all the Wilma warnings indicating precisely that the Yucatan and the Peninsula were going to take a massive hit. Where is the shocker?!

What about Haiti, Cuba? All these needy places suffering under these bad weather. If the US is struggling with these worse than normal onset of inclement weather, how much worse are these other people doing? People dying everywhere. What about the quake and all its victims? The mudslides across the ocean? It's no wonder the Armageddon debate has totally revived. And to fuel that debate, the Gaza pullout. Read the Revelations and see if the shoe fits.

I've become almost numb to the tragedies now. It appears the best we can do is to hope and pray its not hitting exactly where we are standing at any given moment. I've never witnessed so many massive tragedies in under 365 days. Count them, starting with the unforgettable Tsunami. Does everyone else feel like it started what is yet to end? And what lack of meaning it throws to our whimsical everyday cares. Mortgages, for what? A house that goes to rubble in 5 seconds should mother nature decide?

I've been reading on the constitution and I must say that I don't know whether to vote yes or no. Anyway, isn't the real problem with our choice of politicians? Because we could fix this constitution until every one of the 30 something million Kenyans was satisfied, but if Parliament continues to operate with a quorum of 20 members... Are we getting anywhere? Is the real problem the constitution or underinformed, easily manipulated voters? Or is the problem really lack of good candidates vying for the political posts.

Frankly I wonder if any of this matters at all to anybody. The world will still go round, nay?

Innocent voices

I'm posting a link to a foreign film that should soon be available in theatres that show foreign films around you (those in the USA). Everyone else, get your hands on this movie. The screening of this movie was done in Chicago last night. Then they introduced the man whose story this movie tells. I'm made to understand there was not a single dry eye in the audience.

This movie is not receiving the warm welcome in the US. Why? Because it tells the story of the el-savadore war. This is a war that had so many atrocities in it and also a war that was funded by the US. America has been taught to forget the facts of its mistakes. But some very keen Americans want people to view this movie. The timing may be significant due to the Iraq war or may not.

All this does not matter. Stand alone or leaning on history, this is one life changing movie. Life changing. See it.

Way to curb 13 yr old daughter's obsession with sex

I'm with her husband for divorcing her. And why does she think she can include another woman's daughter in this strange episode of hers? I would like to meet this woman and offer a public flogging for her. Whose duty does she leave it to be to protect her daughter?

Balaa Beluwa...

How embarassing! The cops were called to the Kenyan High Commision in Washington DC? And on a note of justice, why would they recall the alleged victim?

Leaves a warm fuzzy feeling inside, NOT!

See the movie "The constant Gardner"

I saw the slums of Kibera and was shocked. They go on forever. Plus plastic bags are bad for the environment. An aerial view of Kibera slums is completely amazing. Not in a good way. It's a good movie but for the fallacies of shooting in Africa as always. I completely agree with the government. They need to build highrises and bulldoze the slums away. As long as none of those people get displaced... I'd say prioritize it. The stagnant "dark black" water...Not flowing with a bridge over it. I am still completely amazed.

I take great insult to this. Without ruining the movie, there's a kid, roughly in standard four. At some point he writes something with the word "sleep" in it. Only, they make him spell it as "sleap". Tell me... When you know Olympic Primary dorminates KCPE...In standard four we wrote compositions... And this same kid is stuttering his way through English... I was just saddened. That they would rather show lies, to perpetuate the misconception. You know this kid in reality, at about standard four, speaks and writes fluent English. Writes it much better than same age school kids here in the USA.

What I don't understand is the desperate need to perpetuate this misconception.
